On Saturday, Keeneland hosts five different Breeders’ Cup prep races, highlighted by the Grade 1, $500,000 Breeders’ Futurity and Grade 1, $750,000 Keeneland Turf Mile.
So as opposed to taking a close look at any one race on the Saturday card the Daily Racing Blog will try something a little different and give out some Value-driven picks in selected races.
Keeneland Race 7: Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (G3) This race offers the chance to bet on a possible loose leader in INTHEMIDSTOFBIZ. She can stalk if necessary, but prefers to lead in most cases. On paper, there is not a whole lot of other speed to stop her. Given the expected slow pace and her past success on this course, INMIDSTOFBIZ can rebound in this spot. She is the upset pick at 10-1 Morning Line.
Keeneland Race 8: First Lady Stakes (G1) We’ll offer up two here, with BLOWOUT being our top consideration at 8-1 Morning Line. This speedy filly is a candidate to secure an uncontested lead through a slow pace and might separate enough to hang on in the stretch run late. Also worth of consideration is PRINCESS GRACE with a Morning Line of 6-1.
Keeneland Race 9: Breeders’ Futurity (G1) DON’T WAIT UP (ML 9-2) shows two good efforts in his two career starts. And while DON’T WAIT UP is the top selection, he faces a talented opponent way on the outside in CLASSIC CAUSEWAY who is 5-1 Morning Line. Use them both in multi-race wagers.
Keeneland Race 10: Keeneland Turf Mile (G1) SPACE TRAVELLER is the top choice here at 6-1. If he gets the right pace scenario he could be the one to beat. Also consider ORDER OF AUSTRALIA, who comes to North America early for all-world (turf genius) trainer Aidan O’ Brien to compete in this Breeders’ Cup prep race.
Best of luck no matter how you play them. Be sure to check and see how we did.
