The Thursday card at Saratoga brings us nine races, four of which are Maiden Races, beginning with races 1 through 3. For the uninitiated, Maiden Races are those in which none of the horses in the field have won a race. Some of the entrants may have a few starts under their saddle, while others might be racing for the first time. Point being, they are usually a crap shoot. If there are no past performances to refer to, you have to look at a horse’s recent work-outs and the human connections. One thing that is reliable in Maiden Races is value. So join Daily Racing Blog as we try to harvest the Maiden fields.

The 8th race is the feature event of Thursday’s card. It is the 16th running of The New York Stallion Series (Statue Of Liberty Division). Yes, that’s quite a mouthful. It is for three year old fillies, run on the inner turf at a mile in distance, for a purse of $100,000 dollars. As always, good luck, and good value.
