Breeders’ Cup Coming To Belmont

It’s been 20 years, but Belmont Park will once again host the Breeders’ Cup in 2027.

It will be the fifth time hosting the BC for the Elmont, NY facility, with the last time being 2005.

The Breeders’ Cup at Belmont Park will be held October 29th-30th, 2027. All race dates are pending approval by the New York State Gaming Commission.

The Breeders’ Cup World Championships is one of Thoroughbred racing’s most prestigious international festivals.

The racing underscores an ongoing commitment from Breeders’ Cup Limited to promote horse racing and invest in its future

The news was released as part of a multiyear announcement which named Keeneland Race Course as the 2026 Breeders’ Cup host, before moving on to Belmont Park the following year.

Since the Breeders’ Cup inception in 1984, the non-profit organization has given back more than $1 billion dollars to the industry in purses, awards, and charitable donations while conducting the World Championships at 12 elite racetracks across North America.

“The Breeders’ Cup and NYRA share a deep commitment to quality and distinction, making the new Belmont Park a prime venue to host the 2027 Breeders’ Cup World Championships,” said Drew Fleming, President & CEO of Breeders’ Cup Limited.

Fleming went on to say; “The reimagined Belmont Park will provide an exceptional stage for the world’s greatest racehorses and participants as we welcome contenders and fans from around the globe.”

The new and improved Belmont Park is scheduled to open in September 2026.
