Steeple Chasing

The Jumpers return to Jersey this Saturday.

The Far Hills Race Meeting is the country’s premier steeplechase event and one of the most anticipated parties in Central Jersey.

The 103rd running, known locally as The Hunt, has been part of the fabric of the Far Hills, N.J. community for more than a century, and it’s grown into the state’s premier social and sporting event.

The annual gathering at Moorland Farm is a highlight of the fall season and attracts thousands of spectators who return, year after year, to watch the world’s finest steeplechases.

The Far Hills Race Meeting has a card of six races on the program, with a total of $700,000 dollars in purses.

The most prestigious race being the 4th-the $250,000 American Grand National, held at 2 5/8 miles over national fences.

Considered a Grade 1 by the National Steeplechase Association, the big monied purse will surely feature some of the top jump horses in the nation.

The races will run rain or shine. Post Time for the first race is 12:30 with the last race scheduled for 4:30.
