Infatuation

When I was 13-14 years of age she thought I was cute. From 15-18 I vied hard for her attention, only to be spurned for my lack of knowledge and experience. I vowed to get better. As I grew older and wiser my skills did improve and I thought I had what it took to win her over. Back then she would occasionally humor me, build me up, and make me feel good about our relationship. She was much older than me but I thought I could make it work. Silly me. Eventually, as was her way, she would humiliate me, and send me on my way. At the end of this tumultuous time we finally reached an accord, with me making most of the concessions. We could see each other annually, on and off between four and six weeks during the heat of the summer. But once that session was over, that was it until the following year. I have learned to live with this arrangement and squeeze every drop of joy out of the time we have together. The 155th meet at the Saratoga Race Course begins tomorrow. Riders Up !

As promised DRB will offer up some free picks for the races at Saratoga during this years meet.  A couple of things to keep in mind;  (1) The choices made here are subject to being scratched prior to post time.  Therefore there will be a couple of choices- upwards of three.  (2) DRB  is always looking for the Value in any given race.  Any loud mouth at the betting window can tout an 8-5 favorite.  Remember where we are (the graveyard of favorites), and what we’re about…Value.  For the sake of saving time and space, we will list just the post position number and morning line of our picks in each race.

1st:  #3 ML 20-1.  #5 ML 7-2.  #4  ML 12-1.

2nd:  #1 ML 4-1.  #6  ML 20-1.  #12 ML 4-1.

3rd:  #6 ML 5-2.  #3 ML 6-1.  #1 ML 10-1.

4th:  #3 ML 15-1.  #8 ML 6-1.  #4 ML 4-1.

5th:  #9 ML 8-1.  #10 ML 20-1.  #6 ML 4-1.

6th:  #4 ML 3-1.  #10 ML 12-1.  #1  ML 9-2.

7th:  #5 ML 8-1.  #2 ML 6-1.  #3 ML 4-1.

8th:  #2  ML 7-2.  #4 ML 12-1.  #10 ML 12-1.

9th:  #5 ML 7-2.  #8 ML 6-1.  #1 ML 5-1.

10th:  #7 ML 10-1.  #3 ML 20-1.  #2 ML 10-1.

So there you have it.  Just for fun lets hypothetically say we place a $2 Win bet on each of these horses (the ones that actually race) tomorrow.  Check back to see how we did, and best of luck, no matter what your wager.
